Feeding

What’s that “Subscribe via RSS” button on the right, just over there?

That’s the RSS Feed button! “What’s a RSS Feed?”

I’m often asked that. Let me explain..

As you surf the internet we often stumble upon websites that we like. We spend some time reading them, perhaps leaving some comments and then we move on. Often though, we forget them and miss out on reading their new content. Well that’s where the RSS Feed is brilliant.

The RSS feed automatically lets you know when a website is updated with new content. It even gives you a short summary of the update. If you don’t want to miss out on updates and don’t want to keep checking websites then the RSS Feed is your saviour.

To get it working all you need is a RSS Reader. There are free ones for example Google Reader and Bloglines. They work a lot like e-mail, you get to see which updates you’ve read and can sort them into folders.

The best way to get started is to sign up with a reader and then click some RSS buttons.

Many internet browsers now have RSS feed ability built in. Look for the RSS logo in the browser address bar.

You can also subscribe to TalkingNature.com by e-mail. Simply click the subscribe via e-mail button.

Have fun.
